Junk Mail Avalanche… How to stop the onslaught!

This past week I got to catch up with a client who I have met with about 2-3 times a year over the past several years.  Yes, that is correct… getting organized is not a one and done kind of thing.  Getting organized and staying on top of a dynamic life full of work, hobbies, home and family, as many of you know, is a lot of work.  Thankfully she and I have forged a sweet relationship and she proudly calls me in for back up!

She has a mail issue, can anyone relate.  She keeps a lovely home and you would never know when you enter her tidy main level that she has hidden away boxes and boxes of papers, mail, catalogs and cards (thankfully not bills.)  So a few times a year, when it has become too overwhelming, she give me a call and I come, and we sort and toss and file….

Reevaluating, refining & rediscovering

Well if you have been following MAS Movement LLC through the life of the business you know we have gone through some changes over the past year.  You might even notice that this is our first blog in over a year!  So for those of you who don’t know and might be interested, here is what happened….

Business was going extremely well at the beginning of 2014, I had 2 contractors working regularly for MAS Movement LLC.  We worked together to get jobs done more quickly, efficiently and cost effectively.   I wanted to promote these amazing ladies to begin seeing their own clients, working solo or with additional contract help as needed. But truth be told, I just didn’t know if there would be enough work for all of us.

That is when I went to coffee with another business provider and walked away with a new job!  I was looking for something new and different but still in the realm of organizing, something that would allow me to continue running MAS Movement LLC and raise up the wonderful new organizers I had trained to work with me over these past years.  Closet Factory (official website) offered me just what I was looking for.

It wasn’t the smoothest of transitions, a lot of business tending fell by the wayside, like blogs, facebook posts and classes.  But in return, I learned the new and exciting business of custom storage design, it was a natural addition to MAS Movement LLC.  And all the more exciting as several MAS Movement LLC clients have availed of the awesome storage Closet Factory (my facebook page) has to offer.

MAS Movement LLC has regained its footing as Myia Danley has stepped into the role of lead professional organizer.  She now has a handful of contractors that work with her on 90% of the leads that come into MAS Movement LLC via our website and facebook.

It has been a whirlwind of a year, sometimes uncomfortable but I think that is where growth lives.  I never imagined what was in store as I felt God tugging on my heart at the end of 2013.  Change was coming no matter how much I dug in my heels and here we are.

Thanks for hanging in there with us!

Better late than never….

No love for (schedule) clutter…

As we say farewell to February, we find another year racing by, with April hot on our heals. How is your 2013 so far? We had a great turn out for our January – Time Management class in Peregrine, here is a highlight…

Happy New Year Kick Off Class

Well it was a whirl wind of a year end!  December brought new opportunities to grow my business, new clients and new products!  MAS Movement LLC finished its best year ever, doubling previous years’ gross revenues!!!

I have found it a bit daunting to pick up momentum in the new year 2013. But there is no time like the present to change perspective and start moving ahead.

My goal this year is to reach more people who hate clutter, people who are overwhelmed, people who want to take back their time and space, people who need a lot of help, people who need a little, people just considering doing something different.  Are any of these people you?

To kick off the new year, January 22 MAS Movement LLC will be hosting a FREE time management class at the Franciscan Retreat Center in Peregrine  off  Woodman Road.

( 7740 Deer Hill Grove  Colorado Springs, CO 80919 in the Woodman Room to the left of the entrance)

During the class we will discuss:

getting things done
overcoming procrastination
doing the right things
margin and goals

It’s a new year, time to step out on the right foot. Let the past lie behind, come for a fresh perspective and some renewing encouragement to make 2013 a pivotal year in your life.

Please RSVP to help us be prepared. 719 352 1590 or jessica@masmovement.com

What happened!?!

Well as you can plainly see, it has been over a month since my last post. Why? Remember that “margin” thing I spoke of, well when my kids arrived home early from their grandparents, Colorado caught on fire and a colleague called and ask if she could hand off a client to me due to a family emergency – all bets were OFF!

Margin

MAS Movement LLC’s first official sale was a huge success. My team and I still have plenty of work to do to clear away what was left. Charity, scrap metal, hazardous waste, eBay and general recycling have yet to be sorted, we have a few days of work ahead before we can broadcast our final numbers.

But what a weekend! Summer is in full swing… vacations to look forward to, landscape projects coming to fruition, calendar booked with clients and then HICCUPS. Family illness effects our travel. A major storm thwarts our backyard plans. And a single job takes twice as long as expected causing cancellations. Am I just complaining about being too busy? Certainly no complaints here, but a great opportunity to revisit the “margin” in my schedule

What is “margin”?

Thank you, please come again

Last week’s class was a HUGE success. We were just about out of space and a few who rsvp’d weren’t able to make it! Thank you to all who were there, it was a pleasure meeting each of you.

We covered four things in the class:

Identifying clutter

Space and containers

Managing mail by “opting out”

Recycling – local resources

It was a lot of information to take in. Hopefully all those in attendance took away some helpful tools to get life in order.

Delegate to Downsize, Outsource to Organize

So every Wednesday morning my alarm goes off and my most productive business day begins. My Wednesday morning networking meeting is most likely the most important part of my week. It is there that I get to reconnect with other like minded small business owners, learning how I can help grow their businesses and in turn sharing my ideal clients. Weather it is helping one of my chapter members streamline their home office, passing a referral for a client’s new roof or remodel or receiving a referral myself, Wednesday mornings is when I get to do the business of business.
