This past week I got to catch up with a client who I have met with about 2-3 times a year over the past several years. Yes, that is correct… getting organized is not a one and done kind of thing. Getting organized and staying on top of a dynamic life full of work, hobbies, home and family, as many of you know, is a lot of work. Thankfully she and I have forged a sweet relationship and she proudly calls me in for back up!
She has a mail issue, can anyone relate. She keeps a lovely home and you would never know when you enter her tidy main level that she has hidden away boxes and boxes of papers, mail, catalogs and cards (thankfully not bills.) So a few times a year, when it has become too overwhelming, she give me a call and I come, and we sort and toss and file….
2 Shopportunites! Is one right for you this season?
So many times, I have discussed with clients the value of their stuff. I have offered eBay services on higher priced items but always wondered how I could help my clients turn their clutter into cash and/or offset the cost of my organizing services. Well, about a month ago I found myself in the Willowstone Antique Marketplace (at Dublin/Academy next to Sprouts) and now find myself the owner of a consignment booth there…
What scares you, I mean REALLY scares you? Being in a car accident? Loss of a loved one? Your kids not going to college and struggling in life? Losing your job? Why do I make such awful suggestions, PERSPECTIVE.
Psychology Today defines FEAR as a vital response to physical and emotional danger—if we didn’t feel it, we couldn’t protect ourselves from legitimate threats. But often we fear situations that are far from life-or-death, and thus hang back for no good reason.
Well as you can plainly see, it has been over a month since my last post. Why? Remember that “margin” thing I spoke of, well when my kids arrived home early from their grandparents, Colorado caught on fire and a colleague called and ask if she could hand off a client to me due to a family emergency – all bets were OFF!
The eye-sore by the front door better known as DEX, yellowbook, the book, the yellow pages and/or the white pages….
Well folks it’s that time of year again, the time when, with a giant thud, over five pounds of paper hits the front porch. Ah, the phonebook(s). I remember a time when they were necessary, but in the digital age I think it is safe to say they may only be used as a booster seat at granny’s house or perhaps a doorstop in the summertime when they are rediscovered languishing in their blue or yellow bag still on the front porch.
Thanks for stopping in to have a look around. We have updated and changed a few things here at MASMovement.com, but the goal remains the same… freedom, joy and loving the space you live in!
I realize there are a million and one blogs out there, so why hang around here? My hope is to pass on useful information to readers about other locally owned businesses, products I love and can’t live without, and perhaps the odd anecdote about, how although I make a business of getting and keeping other organized, sometimes life conspires against me and I find myself asking questions like, “how would I work through this with a client?”
