Last PRIME DAY, I jumped on the paddle board band wagon. I got a great deal on this
Aqua Plus 6inches Thick Inflatable SUP, that turns out may be too big for me, but allows both Dave & I to sit on it. Those things are a beast to hand pump, so I also got the 20PSI High Pressure SUP Vehicle Electric Air Pump electric pump that plugs into the truck electric (aka old cigarette lighter port) The pump is medium size, so not huge but also has enough power to inflate my extra large board in about 20 minutes. Even though the board came with a single handles paddle, I want a double for sitting, so I got this 86 Inch Double Kayaking Oar to match 😉
I am a big fan of this 2 pack of AiRunTech Waterproof Case, Cell Phone Dry Bag. They are so inexpensive that I have purchased multiples, there is one in my beach bag, paddle board bag, scuba bag, etc. My phone is never at risk of getting wet. If we are not around water, I have one of these Lanyards, always at the ready. I may or may not be known to throw my phone or drop it from heights 🤷♀️
Staying hydrated & avoiding leg cramps after walking or hiking miles a day is a must. A friend turned us on to these SaltStick FastChews Electrolytes. We started with the Variety Pack, then each chose our favorites. Dave went for the 120 count of Orange. I prefer the Coconut/Pineapple 60 count. Both are now on my Subscribe & Save list so I don’t have to worry about running out & suffering the pucker of the orange tart 🤣
Did you know, you can save up to an additional 5%-15% when you set up Subscribe & Save? You don’t even have to receive items monthly. You can set up on any interval you like, skip or cancel. Subscribing to 5 items is the best way to get the most savings! $$$
Portable Charger, the INIU Slimmest 5V/3A Power Bank. I actually got this for our trek to the hospital, twice. It is super slim, charges quickly but lasted the whole day. Not gonna lie, I like that the paw shows how much charge it has 😉
EllaPee Womens Urinal Funnel – For the ladies, gents you may want to skip this one because I will not be holding back on this darling’s functionality 😉 After trying several others at the toilet & in the wild, this was hands down the easiest to use. The rigid cup fits snuggly around the pubic bone giving confidence against overflow. The tube is long enough & slightly slanted to direct the flow out & away from your shoes 😊 The Ella pee comes in a plastic-coated zipper bag. (I also carry a small spray bottle of alcohol to disinfect the Ella before storing while in the wild – then wash it & the bag once “home”) The Ella pee has been a game changer on hikes, at the beach, waiting in line for my immigration card at 6am (hypothetically 🤷🏼♀️) when nothing is open. I no longer have to pull my pants all the way down & squat to get the job done ✅
Columbia water backpack – I have several other water packs but I specifically bought this one at the Columbia Outlet on our Portland leg because the water pack was only part of the overall backpack. The water bag goes in its own zippered area & then it has an additional zipper compartment for other stuff, like a snack, extra battery, hat, or whatever. Plus that section has a small mesh bag for keys or cash 💵 I have also found I can freeze water in the bladder, which is a bonus!
Cooler backpack – This was a Christmas gift from my mom 🎁 I needed this to be my carry-on personal item, holding my Mac, iPad, headphones, passport wallet et al & have a place for pens & gum & snacks. It also had to be our on-the-go cooler for balloon rallies or beach jaunts & finally make it to the grocery store with all our other grocery totes. I recently returned to using a “regular” backpack for my digital crap & am missing the ease & flexibility of this one.
Merrill Women’s HYDROTREKKER – I may finally be a convert. Knowing these travels would include many different terrains, city, mountains, beach… I wanted to make sure my shoe choices were well thought through & didn’t take up too much space. I brought 5 pairs of shoes on this adventure (these Merrill’s, Keen low-profile hiking boots, Merrill Women’s Lattice strappy sandals, Chaco slides & some basic flip flops for the pool) These versatile Merrill’s have been the clear front runner. They are super comfortable with & without a little stocking sock (depending if we are going for a city stroll or sweaty hike.) The inserts come out easily to rinse them of silt & sand. They dry quickly & are pretty lightweight for packing.
