Staying Organized….
Organizing is my BLISS โค๏ธ
When I’m happy but also when I feel sad or bored or even overwhelmed ๐ฃ
This mindful practice of putting things in order, calms me, settles me, even helps me arrange my thoughts & plans…. & I’m really good at it ๐
I started MAS Movement Professional Organizing back in 2007, almost 20 years ago ๐ฎ
In nearly 2 decades I have served hundreds of clients in their homes, countless kitchens, pantries, bathroom cabinets & linen closets, home offices, playrooms & garages ๐
In the beginning, it was trial by fire ๐ฅ I organized anything & everything, homes, events even business offices. Overtime I found my sweet spot was working with clients in their homes downsizing, decluttering & organizing.
I help clients not by judging their clutter & disorganization but rather by understanding how they live, how they store things & most importantly, how they want to find things.
I don’t believe in a one size fix all method of organizing. Yes, I think we should be grateful for the thing we have or had when we are letting them go. Yes, often things look worse in the process than when the work is complete. Yes, you can absolutely keep things that make you happy & comfortable. The other side of that is letting go of items that bring you sadness or anger or shame ๐
I whole heartedly believe, being more organized is self care. There is a lightness & freedom that comes with having less stuff. Sadly, more often these days, disorganization is a coping mechanism or even a trauma response to insulate ourselves with stuff.
It is said, if you find a job you love โค๏ธ you will never work a day in your life.
For me, that is helping others clear the physical baggage (&
I find great joy working with my clients to help them get organized & even more joy when my clients realize how holding on to stuff has been holding them back ๐ค Even more joy still, when my client lets me know they have let go off other things on their own &/or not added to their “collections” blindlessly.
In 2020 ๐ฆ I took a break from organizing. I was getting a little burned out. I was also helping my 75 year old mother move homes. I switched gears from helping inside people’s homes to helping at a local charity that ensured our neighbors struggling through the pandemic could pay their bills & feed their families. I volunteered their for 2 years before my own organizing skills would truly be tested.
In 2022 we decided to sell our house in Colorado Springs & head out on a new & big adventure. I have organized a little over the past 3 years as I have contemplated what does a new MAS Movement Professional Organizing look like ๐ค
